The “HEART” man – Dr Alvin Ng Chee Keong

The founder of Jireh Heart Centre, Dr Alvin Ng Chee Keong, is no stranger to cardiac issues. His interest in cardiology began during his posting to the Cardiology department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Singapore) in mid-90s.

Dr Alvin Ng feels that he has been privileged with the quality education and support he received, which included formal training in Cardiovascular Imaging at Cedars-Sinai Hospital (USA) in 2001, and later that year registered as a specialist in Cardiology in Singapore.

In 2001, Dr Ng received the Ministry of Health, HMDP Award to receive formal training in Cardiovascular Imaging at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, USA with Prof Dan Berman. He gained experience in Cardiac SPECT, PET and CT imaging. Several research papers were authored and co-authored at the time, relevant to clinical practice.

His typical day includes hospital visits, carrying out consultation works at his clinic, examining patients on “Stress Test”, ECG and/or Echocardiogram. He also does angiogram and angioplasty (stenting and/or ballooning) for his patients.

In addition, Jireh Heart Centre is also an approved medical provider with many insurers, and provide various health screening packages starting from under $300.

Dr Alvin Ng’s approach of providing holistic care to his patients is something that his patients truly appreciate.

Despite his busy schedule, Dr Alvin Ng Chee Keong enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with his students at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (National University of Singapore) in his capacity as Adjunct Assistant Professor.
